Frequently Asked Questions

Regarding the Climate Action Score, when a candidate belongs to a party we are able to use the parliamentary voting record to predict how they will act on climate - they have never 'crossed the floor' on a climate motion or bill. The data is sourced from theyvoteforyou.org.au which in turn sources from the actual parliamentary voting record (Hansard). We have looked at every bill and motion recorded on that website going back about 15 years and divided them up into the criteria you see on the climate action score. We have disregarded criteria number 10 (Preferences) in our final score as it is not predictable and partly irrelevant given Australia's preferential voting system.

Regarding the Climate Commitment Survey there is no way to confirm candidates will stick to their commitments but we have them on record as making these commitments and can release the specific commitment information to the public.
